Were off to see the wizard...

We love the Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios and since it may be replaced I wanted to do a page about my favorite part, the Wizard of Oz scene. I used this gorgeous New DCWV Simple Joy stack because the mint and teal reminded me of the Emerald City. I also found 2 really nice Oz stickers to add.

I used my typewriter to type the words of the song around the perimeter of the layout.

Hakuna Matata

This is a page that I did for a challenge at Disney Scrappers and I used the New DCWV Flower Shop Stack. The photos are from 05 and I really didn't know if I would find nice papers that would go with flowers and have this type of purple and yellow, but this new collection was just ideal.

Here is a little close up so you can see how pretty the little gold foil accents are.

Aloha! feeling tropical

Well, many of you may have winter weather but we are on our way to summer in houston. 80s today. Anyway I got some new DCWV stacks of paper and I put some of them together for a tropical page because when you see papers with gold foil pineapples and palm trees, you have to use them!

These photos are from the Epcot Food and Wine Festival Hawaii booth and if you have been then I am sorry but you will now start craving that darn kalua pork slider. I used the fruit and pineapple papers from the DCWV Joie de Vivre stack, the background and gold foiled palm are from the Beach House Stack, and the other patterned papers and love banner piece are from the Flower Shop Stack. These are very different stacks but pieces of them work perfectly for my layout.

since I know you cant see the beautiful foiled accents I took this photo sort of sideways to show how cool they really are. Oh and by the way I use Ball brand Herb cutting scissors as fringe scissors, they sort of twist as they cut and I love the look. That's the slider that makes me drool.

and for the title, I cut a thick script title out of white cardstock using my silhouette, then punched holes and stitched it with floss. I love the way it turned out. Super easy, just takes a little time and the title has to be thick enough to hold up to the stitching.

Celebrate!

If you have celebration photos there are two great DCWV stacks that you need to have. One is a  stack called Confetti and it came out a couple of seasons ago. It has some nice party papers, tags and blocks to cut out, gold foil accents on the patterned papers or vellum papers and envelopes that punch out, as well as a little surprise in the back of the stack where they have included confetti. The second stack is a brand new one called Joie de Vivre stack and it also has gold accents and super fun papers!

Today I am sharing a layout that I made for my sister. She has two sweet older dogs and one is very ill. For their birthdays a couple of weeks ago she got them very special doggie cakes to celebrate and posted the photos on Facebook. Of course I nabbed those photos so I could make a page because they are too stinkin' cute!

The background paper is from the DCWV White Embossed Stack. The patterned papers are from the Joie de Vivre Stack and the tissue confetti, vellum envelope with confetti, and cake tag are all from the Confetti Stack. I machine stitched the tissue confetti and it puckered, turns out I kind of like that look so I used it even though its not perfect.  ....just look at that cotton candy paper!

CSI: Color Stories Inspiration is Five! Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration! I had so much fun with their challenges during my time on the team and when I was asked to play along for one of the anniversary month challenges, I was not going to say no! I haven't scrapped in awhile so I have to say that everything was a challenge, but I love the colors and inspiration

Click HERE to see the challenge and all of the layout examples from amazing present and past designers.

and here is my layout

I used a fun background paper from DCWV that has sparkles in it and then cut a giant snowflake from white cardstock with my silhouette. The vellum under the photo is there so that I could use my pretty typewriter to journal on the edge of it. :)

The inspiration I used were snowflakes, stars, pearls, something fuzzy, and glitter

Then I drew some tiny dots and stars and splattered with gold mist

In Canada with DCWV Christmas Plaids

Happy 2017! I am sorry that I haven't shared any layouts in quite awhile. I hope to have more time for some scrapping soon. I know everyone has lots of holiday photos that need to be scrapped so I am sharing a layout using the gorgeous DCWV Christmas Plaid Stack and the background from one of my fave stacks, the Embossed White Stack.

here is a closer look at the left side. The cardinals are cut from the paper that has the labels and tags.

The gold accents in the Christmas Plaid stack are not overwhelming and just exactly what you need for a little something special.

When we were in Epcot, we bought candy in most of the countries to bring home and share with the boys on Christmas Morning so I included the little candy box on my layout.
