New DCWV Sea Worthy and Foiled Vellum stacks

Ok you guys are going to love these new goodies from DCWV! First, here is the page I created with all the goodies using Sketch #126 at Sketch Savvy HERE

I used the new Sea Worthy stack with it's awesome gold accents and then I added a few pieces from some of the new 6x6" stacks: the Printed Corrugate stack, Cork Stack and my favorite - the Foiled Vellum Stack! The foiled vellum stack has some gold patterns, black patterns and even some plain vellum. You will be seeing alot more of that stack in my layouts.

The octopus and sign were one 4x6 block on the patterned paper. I cut it apart and cut the edges of the woodgrain to look like weathered wood. Then I added some gold eyelets and cotton yarn because I am not sure I can do a nautical page without those. LOL! Oh the strip of red is from the Travel Adventure Stack and the kraft colored paper with arrows is from the Gilded Stack.

Shopping info - The Sea Worthy stack at Hobby Lobby and the other stacks are from JoAnns. :)

July Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic

Time for another Sketchy Thursday challenge at Scraptastic Blog HERE. So pull out your papers and play along for a chance at the monthly prize!

For my example I used the Either Way kit, Add on Kit, and both the Either Way Stamp Set and the Summer Nights Stamp Set. Seriously if you like these goodies that I have been using for my layouts this month, check it out because they are all on sale! Actually Scraptastic is having a big sale so stock up. Anyway, I love the gold accents of this collection and that along with the colors, made me think of Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty's Castle. I love this photo of the back of the castle.

I used the spiral note paper top stamp with gold embossing powder on vellum and after I cut it out, I poked a hole where each spiral hole was with a large needle and then tore outwards like it was torn out of a spiral. I have a tough time photographing the gold accents but the title, stars and the stripes and some dots in the papers are all gold. Oh and the paper clip too. In person this is really so much better.

Just for fun I scrapped a couple of photos of my brother and a Pooh Bear topiary at Epcot. I cut some frames from the patterned papers and used red and blue like the union jack. I added some vintage shell buttons, alphas, and a doily.

Red, White and Blue

This layout is for a July Red, White, and Blue Disney Challenge. I actually do have photos from Liberty Square or America Epcot but I wanted to scrap these photos. I used some Teresa Collins Stationary Noted collection and added a bunch of silver to go with Spaceship Earth. Not the greatest photos but Alex and I love this ride so much and we were taking a few photos and riding the ride when the other guys were away doing something else.

Scraptastic Button Challenge

Today I am going to share some inspiration to get you guys thinking about using buttons on your pages. Then you should visit Scraptastic's Blog HERE for the Button challenge and a chance to win the gift certificate this month.

For both of my layouts, I have used the July Either Way kit and Add On kit. I added cardstock from my stash for the background. Then I stamped and used gold tinsel embossing powder to heat emboss on vellum with the Either Way stamp set.

My favorite way to use buttons is in a title in place of the letter "O". It's a simple thing, but I do like the fun of it. Seemed to add whimsy to my goofy troll layout. I tied the embroidery floss thru the button, tied a bow, and then attached it to the layout using adhesive dots, but sometimes I just stitch thru the page to secure a button.

For my second layout I wanted to make my own button card to go with the vintage textiles in my photos. The buttons in this kit are super cute. I just tied string thru the buttons in different ways and again attached with an adhesive dot.

July Either Way kit from Scraptastic Club

Hey everyone today I wanted to show you the kits I got this month from Scraptastic Club and 2 of the layouts that I created. I used the Either Way kit, Add on Kit, and both the Either Way Stamp Set and the Summer Nights Stamp set. First let me show you the kits:

Either Way  Add on Kit

For my first layout I stamped and heat embossed with gold tinsel embossing powder on vellum, using the globe stand and also the hearts. Then I stamped the globe using aqua ink onto cardstock and adhered it to the globe stand using adhesive foam tape. If you look at the small banner strip in the lower left, I stamped the background using aqua and then stamped the words over the banner and cut it out.

I know you guys have seen me do this before but I love punching confetti to put in the little glassine bag that the flair comes in when you get the kit. I added one of my own paper doilies from my stash.

For my second layout I also stamped using the gold embossing tinsel powder on vellum. It coordinated well with the gold accents in the papers and the gold Thickers glitter alphas. I wish photographing gold wasn't so difficult. These accents are so much better in real life.

This kit has some canvas stickers in cute shapes like stars and hearts, for this page I misted the hearts with a pink color so that they would coordinate with the pinks in the patterned papers. I added a couple of tooth picks to make flags.
