Figaro is a great watch-cat. He guards us from other cats outside, evil birds, and scary bugs by keeping watch in the windows. Sometimes you don't even really have to get up to be fierce, and sometimes it's just not worth the trouble.

Prompted by a challenge on the October Afternoon Blog, I pulled out my October Afternoon Miscellany packs today. This page is all October Afternoon's Farmhouse collection. Well,I did add a bit of green from another collection. I used lots of cute stuff from the Farmhouse Miscellany pack. Don't you just love those packs! I painted the butterfly with crackle paint and added a couple of rhinestones.

And while I was working on my page, Figaro stopped by to make sure everything was going well and to try to "borrow" the ribbon. :)

Mickey's Place

This is for a challenge about Toon Town. I wish I had known that Mickey and Minnie's houses were going to be removed to make room for the new Fantasyland when we went last time because I would have taken alot more and better photos of that area. This is the last time we got to visit Mickey's House before it became extinct. I used October Afternoon's "Sidewalks" collection which I think is ideal for so much of DisneyWorld but most especially Toon Town. These cool buttons are also OA. I cut the Mickey title and Mickey image using my Mickey and Friend's cricut cart. I have to remember to do that more often. I really like it and this little mickey bust is super fast so there is no reason not to.

You know I never get a nice photo of a rainbow, its always very pale. I took this photo at the resort at DisneyWorld and I have wanted to scrap it but I wasn't sure if anyone would appreciate the lousy photo. Still it looks much better when scrapped with the softer colors of Basic Grey "What's Up" collection along with a few pieces of BG "Kioshi" and the green is from "Archaic". The clouds and balloons are cut from patterned papers and the rainbow is just punches and random cut squares. This is for Sketch #91 at Sketch Savvy HERE

Treats! *NEW DCWV Gilded Orchard

Now this new DCWV Gilded Orchard Stack needs to be seen in person because with all the gold glittery bits and gold foil, I just cant take photos to make it look as nice as it does in person. Plus we have had a couple of overcast days and my photos are dull. When I see red, green, gold, fruit, and flowers,  I think Christmas so I scrapped a photo of my sister with some really yummy treats that our brother gave her. I cut out a few little tag squares and some flowers and the page just put itself together.

Magic of Disney Animation

This is my first attempt to turn a one page sketch into a two page sketch. I took Sketch #90 from Sketch Savvy  - Click HERE to see the sketch and how it was stretched. When you visit Disney's Hollywood Studios (MGM), you can take an animation tour and although it is no longer a working studio, its still a fun. The tour of the working animation studio and backlot tour were really great, I hope some of you guys got to see it before it was gone.

Anyway, you can also go to the Animation Academy and a Disney Artist will teach you to draw one of your favorite characters! It's a great souvenir of your trip. Three of us drew Winnie the Pooh on this trip and we have them on our wall now. On another trip we got to draw Stitch.

For this layout I used MME  papers, mostly from the Follow Your Heart collection. I also had some super old sketchy looking Pooh paper so I cut a couple of hexagons from that as well. Themey paper can overwhelm a page sometimes, but it can be just the perfect touch, when used in small amounts.

All Smiles

You know after 8 days at DisneyWorld, my guys are super exhausted. I don't believe in afternoon naps. But we always have breakfast with Pooh on our last day before spending the day at the Magic Kingdom. And if you have grown guys, you know they can get really "kranky" after 8 days of spending all their time with parents. None of that matters when Pooh Bear walks over to you, all of a sudden they are happy to get up from their pooh waffles for a photo. This is for Sketch #90 at SketchSavvy, and I used papers from several Crate Paper collections so I would have some good goldish yellows. I just love the CP background whites so I cut a couple of hexagons from another "white" to add some depth.

Snorkel Mask *New Surfs Up Stack*

Back with another layout using this super fun new Recollections Surfs Up Stack by DCWV. This is my page for Sketch #89 from Sketch Savvy. See it HERE. I wish you could see the sparkles of this paper because there is one whole sheet of little sparkly vans and I had to cut out a little one for my layout and pretend its a Disney Bus. LOL!

Toboggan Racers *New Surfs Up Stack

This is just the most fun stack! Its the NEW Recollections "Surfs Up" Stack by DCWV. (available now at Michaels) I love the bright light colors because I have all these crazy white photos from Disney's Blizzard Beach that don't go all that well with dark beach colors. And of course they are disposable water camera photos which is never a good thing. Anyway, LOVE this background paper that is a super white washed woodgrain with awesome glittered stripes and it made me think of the toboggan racers which are the most fun. Seriously acting like a kid and racing against your family members on faux downhill snow is a great thing to do right in the middle of a hot Disney holiday! I think one of my other fave papers is the one that is all flowers and leaves that aren't overlapping so you can cut them out. Yes, you will be seeing alot more of this stack. :)

Epcot After Dark **New DCWV Stardust Stack**

Are you ready for another DCWV Peek!? Here is a page I just finished using the NEW DCWV Stardust Stack. I knew the second I got this stack that it was going to be the perfect answer to all of those super difficult night time shots at Walt Disney World and any fireworks shows, not to mention stuff like Space Mountain! Oh and our Nasa photos too.

Anyway, this collection is full of starry papers, constellations,  and just beautiful swirly prints like the black background I have used here for my Epcot nighttime photos. There are glittery bits and of course this great gold foiling in accents. One of the pages is journaling blocks and stuff you can cut out. I cut out this circle. Also the coordinating mat stack has cardstock, foiled cardstock, and glittered cardstock which are just my faves for titles and matting. Even the glittery cardstock cuts beautifully in my Cricut and since its DCWV it doesn't get glitter everywhere, it stays in the paper.

Epcot is just beautiful at night with all the lighting, glittery lights in the walkways, ... its one of my very fave places to be at night. Well, Main Street is all sparkly too, but Epcot is a close second. Now thanks to this Stardust Stack, I might actually get some of these tough photos scrapped so you can see them.

Roller Skate **New DCWV A Type of Art Stack**

Another peek at some NEW DCWV! This time it's the DCWV "A Type of Art" stack. There are lots of fun small text backgrounds and large decorative alpha or numbers papers and even a couple of sheets of these great letter cards like "A is for Adorable". I think it is going to be a great stack to have on hand to coordinate with your other stacks or just use on its own like I have in this layout.

Yep, I was really hip in my candy striped dress, saddle oxfords and my little skates. If you had those old skates you remember how rough it was riding on them compared to the roller blade wheels now. LOL
I thought these colors of text in this stack would give it a great retro feel. I cut the title from a silver finish cardstock in the coordinating cardstock stack. The glittered paper around the edge of the paper is also from that stack.

Edible landscaping *New DCWV Home Spun Stack*

I have to share a little peek with you guys today. This is a new stack that will be coming out at JoAnns soon. Its the DCWV Home Spun Stack and its got some really neat texture in the designs as well as actual texture. This cute stack has alot of stitching in it's designs and some of the papers have the glittery embossing. My favorite thing about this stack is that many of the papers have a sort of corduroy line feeling texture that goes very well with the look of this collection. In the coordinating cardstock stack there are glittered and pearl finished papers, but all of the regular textured cardstock has this same texture. I hope that the close ups of my page show you what I mean.

Did you know that the landscaping around Tomorrowland in Disneyland is edible? How cool is that! I was standing in the queue for Buzz Lightyears Astro Blasters and realized that there was watercress growing next to me. As you can see in these photos, they have beautiful cabbages and oranges for color too. I just thought it was super cool. I want them to come landscape my yard with food :) I used the cool textured cardstock to make a little orange embellishment.

will and kate *CSI: Case File no.22

You will definitely have to check out CSI: Case File no.22 and the fantastic pages from the Design Team HERE. I loved the inspiration photo so much that I had to use a photo of my mug with hot tea and jammie dodgers to tell about the wedding. First I am a bit of an anglophile because many of my fave tv show are from the bbc (Doctor Who, Primeval, Top Gear, Keeping up Appearances...), I grew up with a best friend who lived half of the time in Texas and half of the time in Devon, and anyone who drinks black teas with cream and sugar and any kind of pastry is good in my book. I got up at a crazy hour when I was in high school to watch Diana and ... I hate to admit this... but my prom dress was styled after her dress in an almost white shade. Go ahead and laugh, I am used to it.

Anyway my brother got this mug for me and the night of the wedding, several of my good friends decided that we would stay up all night and have a virtual watching party. We made tea and other things and then all gathered online in a chat room and talked about the clothes, the hats, and the whole event. It was so much fun and I will always remember it.
Dont forget to watch the queen's Diamond Jubilee tomorrow morning June 3rd on BBCA at 8:30est / 7:30central :)
