It's not Cold! *EP Hello Summer

I just got this "Hello Summer" collection from Echo Park and I just had to do a layout right away! I totally love the colors and fun patterns. I think it's going to be a great one to have on hand and it goes so well with several other Echo Park collections as well. See the whole collection HERE.

I had some photos of the boys when they were little printed out 5x7 and this paper was just what I needed for this photo with the funny pink and yellow life jackets and aqua water at Sea World. And don't you just love these sticker letters? Have you ever seen anyone look more uncomfortable!? Poor guys were shivvering and shaking so hard but it was their first water park/ water slide experience and they insisted that they were NOT cold. They didn't last long. LOL!

Under the Tree of Life - CSI: Case File no.20

This weeks CSI: Case file no.20 challenge has colors that we all have photos for. I mean I have a bazillion holiday photos that would work, but then I looked at the photo and read the prompts and I totally had to do Tough to be a Bug photos. These photos were taken in the queue under the Tree of Life. Its so nice walking around under there in the shade with all the cool carvings and of course since its Disney, there is always appropriate mood music everywhere. There are giant tortoises too. I will scrap that photo another time. I used My Minds eye papers and the woodgrain is from DCWV. The font for the title is the "Bugs Life" and I made a felt butterfly. For the "evidence" I used bugs, dots, stitching, and felt. For the "testimony" I sort of journaled in a trail

California Screamin'

This was a fun page to do. Its for my brother's book and he didn't give me photos of this ride, but I wanted to include it with a little story so I borrowed some great photos from my friend, Tami. I have some but mine are kind of bad. Anyway, I got this new Simple Stories "Summer Fresh" collection and MME "Miss Caroline" and the colors go so well together for my page. I know you guys are sick of my sunshines on layouts but I just couldn't resist on this one. This is for Sketch #87 at Sketch Savvy. See it HERE

Splash Mountain

Here is one more page for my brother. I really like the way this turned out and it was for a Disney Scrappers challenge to use paint on the page and get inspired by a Disney tune. How can you not be inspired by a Disney tune when doing a Splash Mountain page?! I used some really old Scenic Route papers, cut the title with my Cricut, and the border is punched Mickeys. The woodgrain paper is Imaginisce and I really wish I had some more of that! I used a photo of the splash mountain sign to get the shape for my title.

Discovery Island Trails

I really do not understand why it is so difficult to find green papers that are appropriate for photos of people outdoors in places like forests, tropical places, the zoo.... I mean it doesn't have to be tropical leaves, but you know, just designs that would go well with zoo papers. Ok.... enough, I just has to vent about that.  I made this page for my brother. This is a photo of him that I really like, so I decided to bring out the colors he was wearing while giving it the Animal Kingdom look. Again I used that awesome Bo Bunny Zoology collection but I combined it with some DCWV and some older SEI paper for the green.

Epcot Japan

This is another page for my brother's book. I did it for a challenge over NSD weekend. I used the gorgeous Basic Grey Konnichiwa collection. It's the most perfect paper for Epcot Japan.

Here are a couple of step by step photos to show how I used that punched border around the circle.

Boo!

My brother and sister have birthdays this month and I am quickly trying to get a few pages done for their books. This one is for my brother. We were at the Haunted Mansion at night which is creepier than normal and our doom buggies stopped in the back corner of the graveyard where its very dark. My brother was in the buggy in front of me and dh. He stood up and said, Boo! over the top and I yelled a non-disney word. I made him pose for a photo. It was pretty funny. I thought Basic Grey Eerie would be the perfect paper. I need to scrap this for my book soon too. The font is Gracies Manor which is one of the Haunted Mansion fonts.

This page is for Sketch #86 at SketchSavvy HERE

Take Flight *CSI: Case File #19

This is totally one of my favorite color schemes and inspiration photos so far at CSI. It's for CSI: Case File #19 and for the "evidence" I used pleating, rosettes, circles, birds... just fun stuff. Then for the "testimony" I used the inspiration word flight, actually it inspired the whole page. I remember my step dad, Jim, telling me that the bird house was for good luck but when I asked Mom, she laughed and said that the little Martins eat the mosquitos. LOL! I guess that's good luck too. Visit this weeks challenge HERE at CSI to see the amazing work of our Designers.

4 Parks, 1 World

For anyone who loves Disney World, that is a common phrase. There are 4 major theme parks at Disney World - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. I did this page for my sister's book and now I am thinking I want one too. I used Basic Grey "Picadilly" papers and "PB&J" tags and things for the banner.

the Savannah

This is one of my favorite sketches lately. This is for Sketch #84 at Sketch Savvy. Its also for a disney challenge so click here to see some fantastic examples. I used some DCWV Safari papers and some Bo Bunny Zoology papers for a really fun Kilimanjaro Safaris page. I just liked this photo alot so I wanted to sort of make it stand out. The flowers are mostly Prima but there are a couple of little animal print flowers by Mark Richards - perfect for my Animal Kingdom photos.

Lego Maniac

On National Scrapbook day I did a few sketches for SketchSavvy and for some Disney challenges and this is one of them. This is for Sketch #83 at Sketch Savvy and its a fun one because you could use any shapes in place of the rectangles. Visit SketchSavvy here to see some of the pages that people shared with me.

Big Thunder

Do you just LOVE October Afternoon Sasparilla! And it is completely perfect for anything around Frontierland in Disneyland or Disney World. This is a not so great photo of my and my good friend, Nancy at Big Thunder. We both love the ride. I did this for Sketch #82 at SketchSavvy. I probably shouldn't have put the light print on a light background but I still like it. The cute circle punch is just an Itop Punch from Imaginisce, it makes a great flower or just a unique seal looking shape.
