Colorful Life by DCWV

Have you seen the Colorful Life Stack by DCWV and thought, its so beautiful, but how do I use it? well, just start cutting! Its really fun and the colors will match so many of your photos. I just pulled out some photos from our trip to the museum gardens and quickly created this page. I added some old dictionary pages that a friend shared with me, and a few buttons. I have to point out that the page is matted with a piece of black cardstock from the Colorful Life Mat Stack and if you notice the mat stack papers have a white core, don't forget that you can sand or scrape them to reveal the core. It's especially fun with black cardstock. The awesome bee is an epoxy sticker from the same collection, check out all of the embellishments HERE. check back because I have already started another layout with these cool papers.

***REMEMBER You can win $100 and handbags in the Daily Window Contest on my blog. All the info is HERE. I cant wait to see who wins!***

When we were trying to take a photo of Alex and Savvy out in the tiny bit of flurries that we had here last year, Savvy just wanted to know what kept landing on him and where it was coming from. He started climbing up Alex to try and get higher.
I used Basic Grey Jovial collection, it even has a snowman with a kitty on his head. :)

Are you ready for a contest with BIG PRIZES?

Are you ready for a Fun Contest with Big Exciting Prizes!?
Tomorrow morning I will be posting the in depth details but I couldn’t wait to tell you a little about the contest so this is a sort of sneak peek.

So how many of you remember my beautiful Daily Window handbags? I had so much fun personalizing these bags and I have to say that after more than a year of use, they are still just like new. You will love the durability of these bags and you know me, that’s an important feature. LOL! I really love the style of my Daily Window bags, because I can change them as often as I like to suit my taste.

Here are two of my bags to refresh your memory. The large one is perfect for crops, by the way.

So the wonderful people at Daily Window have contacted me and would love for my readers to take part in an upcoming challenge this month.
The name of the challenge is:

Using art to personalize your Daily Window Bags

Before we go any further let me tell you what the prizes are because when you hear this I know you are going to want to send in some art work.

The first place winner will recieve $100 and a Daily Window personalizable bag
Runners up will receive a Free Daily Window personalizable bag.

If you haven't heard about the awesome Daily Window Bags yet your probably wondering what a personalizable bag is so go check out the Daily Window site now so you can see what a great prize this really is and understand how your mixed media art background will be used. What do you have to do to win?

Create an original mixed-media background card (or cards) for our customers to personalize and share in their Daily Window Bags. If chosen your card/s will be featured in the “artist gallery”

All you have to do is create a mixed media background size 5 3/8 x 7 7/8 inches. file size 300 dpi

The background must be this size. This size is the size background that fits into the Daily Window bags.

When and if your background art is uploaded to the Artist Gallery it will be used as a down loadable and printable greeting card/cards that can be personalized at the I Love To Inspire site. These cards fit into the window of the bags.

Important Information!
You will still own the rights to any art work you send in for the contest. Also you can even send in a piece of art for this contest if it has been published somewhere else. How cool is that!

Please take a minute to check out some of the art work that is already on the I love To Inspire site so you can get an idea of what Daily Window is looking for.

Please be sure that an area of the background will be able to have personalized text added.
Keep an eye out for the Detailed Contest information right here tomorrow!

Color Combos Galore #165

I just loved these colors for the Color Combos Galore #165 challenge. I was going to use Wassail from BG but this Melissa Frances collection was ideal! I loved the inspiration photo with the chipped paint on the shutters and the quilt so I used Crackle paint on a chipboard ornament and then made a quilt of squares. I also went a bit more gold with my yellow like in the inspiration photo. My husband says I do this quilted look too much and it's making my pages boring on my blog. LOL! I guess I do it far too often, but it is fun and easy so you may see more.

Autumn Home decor

I just finished this little Autumn thing and wanted to share. Its just a box, covered with Melissa Frances papers, my fave ball feet, a gourd, and a fall sprig from Hobby Lobby.

Spin! Color Combos Galore #164

Question of the day: When was the last time you scrapped blurry, dark, or other bad photos???

We try to avoid using those photos but they tell the story too so I challenge you to give it a try. Here are a couple of my dark blurries. But it was the first time my family made themselves sick in the teacups! LOL! Actually they were ok, even after all of the spinning, but I won't go anywhere near that ride now, but it was a fave when I was a kid. My mom and Aunt rode with me and they didn't do as well.

This is my page for the Color Combos Galore #164 and although I love these colors, I am just not that good with them because I don't have many photos that have pink in them. The patterned papers are Basic Grey, and the chipboard is Maya Road. I added a couple of Alice in Wonderland stickers with my cluster of flowers at the bottom.
