Angie and Kazie CCG#152

Just look at the photo inspiration in Color Combos Galore #152! How could I resist making that!? It was so easy but I did the pleats while watching tv. I used all Basic Grey papers from Olivia,. Lemonade, and Urban Prairie. I wish these photos weren't glossy because they don't photograph well, but believe me, they are nicer in person.

just Magical * My Minds Eye

I pulled out the My Mind's Eye So Sophie again and made another dusk layout from the Magic Kingdom. If you remember "no shirt, no Magic" HERE. This goes just before that and will be the sort of start to my evening photos of SpectroMagic, Main Street, and Wishes. I am loving how well these papers work with just about any photo so you will see them more. I made this cute scallopy banner because it reminds me of the turn of the century banners on Main Street. I mounted one of the photos and the banner on thick Puffy Paper for dimension.

Since I made the flowers again, I actually took a little photo of the steps and which So Sophie MME papers you will need. The large background flower can be die cut or hand cut just larger than the orange flower. The orange and green flowers are cut from these patterned paper shown and the center is from my fave dot paper. Pinch the petals as shown. Then you get to apply thick Rock Candy Stickles so they will be sugared. Love that part.

Also, did you know that you can layer the MME Rub ons? They have white behind the color so you can apply light colored rub ons right over the dark colors. I wasn't sure it would work well, but it's perfect so I had to take a close up photo.

Midnight Rooster July Mini Kit

I was lucky enought to win a Midnight Rooster Mini kit from Jing-Jing Nickel's blog. I am a big fan of Jing-Jing, and I have to say THANK YOU (really loud)!!!! because I had so much fun using it yesterday to do this layout. I forgot about the awesome stamp til after I was finished so I didn't get to use it on this page. I did pull out some Shimmerz Mists in "Bed of Roses" and "Tuscan Sun" for misting the fabric, lace, and flowers. I also added a thin brown ribbon for the banner. Isn't this kit just perfect for my little photo? And if you haven't seen the current Midnight Rooster full sized kit, it is AWESOME!!! Check it out HERE

C3PO and R2D2

I don't know why it's so hard for me to scrap our photos from Star Wars Weekends at MGM. I just need to pull out the photos and scrap them. I used a mixture of several collections from Basic Grey for this one : Black Tie, Basics, and Marrakech. The red meshy stuff is cut from our bag of oranges! LOL I was getting an orange and thought that was the perfect red, so I cut the front off the bag. Oranges are sitting there on my counter in a bowl now. Oh and the black glitter paper is my fave DCWV.

I just found this photo the other day and I had to scrap it. I love this "So Sophie" My Minds Eye paper, but I just had to use a piece from MME "Abbey Road" that is the exact color of Mr Casey.

Rain or Shine

If you have been to Walt Disney World in the summer, chances are you know about the little afternoon storms. We have been 3 times, twice in June and once in July and you can almost set your clock by them. LOL. My guys are tall and I am short so I get lost in crowds easily when I stop for photos. I make my guys wear the clear ponchos so I can find them in the sea of yellow Mouse ponchos.

The minute I got my "A day in the park" collection by Echo Park, I knew I had to do this page. Ducks and raindrops with all Disney colors. If you haven't seen this paper, you need to check it out and the pack I got had letter stickers and element stickers. I know I keep making Suns and Clouds on my pages. It's just that they are so darn cute and for this page, I just had to do it again. I will try not to put them on every page for awhile. LOL! Also, if you put ducks on a disney page, they must wear mouse ears.

Tourist geeks

Are you a tourist geek - do you wear your camera all the time and stop for photos every 20 feet?

Well, I am and I think it's genetic because I definitely got it from my Dad. I literally have thousands of slides from him. I take my 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB flash cards with me and I take my mini laptop or EHD to download to at night. My brother and sister aren't quite as bad but they take their fair share of photos. I took this photo of them in LA when the 3 of us were there for our cousin's wedding and we did some serious sightseeing and souvenir shopping. And do you love that I had just those stickers so I didn't have to journal???

I used all papers and embellishments from the "Pack your Bags" from Little Yellow Bicycle. I just LOVE these papers but check out the awesomely cool little chipboard station wagon!!! If you click on the photo you can see it bigger and you should because it's my fave embellishment. :)
Of course the mist is Shimmers Spritz and the beady star stuff is cut from a beaded necklace that I got from the 4th of July Parade.

Pack Your Bags by Little Yellow Bicycle

Ok so first you have to go look at this collection "Pack your Bags" from Little Yellow Bicycle HERE. Because I have had these photos sitting waiting for this collection to come along for 5 years! Alex even saw me making it and said, "I thought you were going to make a mini album for me when we got home and that was in 2005?!" The boy actually thought to collect barf bags on the plane, so I could put them together and make a mini. So yes, I will be making one for him eventually, and maybe even one from our road trip to Florida in 2002. How sad that I never scrapped all of that, BUT now I have THE papers and goodies.

The papers, embellishments, ribbon... everything is from the "Pack your Bags" collection from Little Yellow Bicycle. I used a Pocket that is actually from the Envelope Album Kit which is the coolest mini, but I had to steal one of the envelopes for this page. Its holding the journaling piece, a plane ticket reciept and the cute little wings that the pilot gave him when he went into the cockpit. I just love these Clear Cuts transparency type embellishments because they have great patterns and look how perfect this plane looks.

Dont Touch

Do you have one kid who just has to touch things and when they are little, you follow them around begging them to put their hands in their pockets? guess what? That doesn't change when they grow up! LOL!

This is for the Color Combos Galore Challenge #151. I just LOVE these colors and for the photo inspiration I made little puffy things like the pompoms in the photo. Mine are circles of a velour type material attached with a mini brad. The awesome sun is a cut file that I got from my friend Jeanne's Blog - GET IT HERE. Believe it or not, all of these papers are from the Beach collection from Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) - really cute stuff. The cute puffy stickers are from TPC Studios.

cornering the market bwahahaaaa!

That's my evil laugh. I was so happy when Basic Grey's Oliver collection came out because I knew I could finally scrap alot of the boys' High School events because I FINALLY have a good Maroon. My husband was near the scrapbook store one day so I asked him to go in and buy all the sheets they had left of the maroon solid and dotted papers from the Oliver collection. LOL! Hey, I have like 8 years worth of photos from Marching Band and 2 graduations in Maroon.

Here is my first page and I am loving it! The stamped image is from the Notes set by Basic Grey. The scalloped cut frame and shadow are my own design. Get them Free HERE at SketchSavvy. I also used a piece of quilted silk and a chipboard frame that I painted with Pewter Distressed Crackle Paint.

At Last!

AT LAST - I have the Graphic 45 "Halloween in Wonderland" collection! LOL! I have been wanting to play with this paper since they first showed it on the Graphic 45 blog. For this card, I used the 8x8" paper pack of Halloween in Wonderland and then added a couple of papers from the 8x8" On the Boardwalk Collection. Then I had to make the tea shiny with Glossy Accents. Isn't this a cute "Un-birthday" card? If you don't have these collections, I have to say that the paper pack is the only way to go because the backs are just as great as the fronts so you really have to have 2 sheets of each and even then you may want to hord them.

Shark Reef

Another My Mind's Eye Breaking Free Collection / Typhoon Lagoon layout. I did a page awhile back using the other part of these papers and I had a couple more photos that I wanted to scrap so I decided to pull them out and play. HERE is the other half of this layout. For my flowers this time, I used some old Prima flowers and you know those little 5 petal Primas that you bought in all those cute bottles and then got tired of using? Well, my friend, Brandye came over yesterday and started sanding them and pulling apart the layers and they look so cool! Kind of felty. So I added a close up so you could see the neat effect. There is only one blue flower and one orange flower. And Thank you for the awesome blue flower, Sydney!

trouble makers

Guess what? You ARE allowed to put 4 large photos on one page. I know, you feel the need to use one photo, but there are times when you just want to use several large photos. I am not saying it was easy, but you can do it and still have room for a bit of embellishment. Give it a try.

That's my mom helping my kitten misbehave, so of course I took photos. This is for the Color Combos Galore Challenge #150. I may have to do another one with this color combo because my blues went a bit aqua. I used fabric because there is fabric in the inspiration photo. I also used the partial circle and flowers from the photo. The papers are Basic Grey for the background and My Mind's Eye for all of the patterned papers. I also used some GCD chipboard and chipboard stamps.

Difficult photos

I use all photos, even difficult ones. I think these are tough because of the sea of people, darkness, and difficult colors. I have decided paper strips are the way to go when you just can't figure out which papers to use. Use them ALL! LOL! I chose to use my drawer full of Sassafras Lass because it looked like "waiting for a parade". I have always wanted to mask off and white wash so I tried it and it was FUN! You have got to give it a try. I don't like it at all when my paper warps so I tried ironing the whole page before putting on the photos. It didn't help. It flattens in the album, but it still bugs me. OH and I have to say thank you to Tami for the great title!

Reflect *Color Combos Galore #149

Since I have some friends at Color Rooms Galore, I wanted to try their Inspiration Boards. It was really fun! This week I did Color Combos Galore #149. I found a couple of photos from our Disney trip in 02 that needed just these colors. For the photo inspiration I chose to use cupcake liners for my circles at the bottom and I added a touch of the blue that is on one of the cupcakes in the photo. I have to say, I really like pulling random inspiration from the actual photo. I used October Afternoon papers mostly with a piece of Coredinations cardstock and the green is K&Co. Oh and sorry about the washed out photo. My last layout is dark from the dreary rainy days and now I have direct sun. LOL!
