Happiness is...

Well for my son and I, it's Spaceship Earth. We just love that ride and when we went to DisneyWorld in 2005, we had a half day at the beginning of our trip so after checking into our resort, we went straight to Epcot for the Intl Flower and Garden Festival and our first ride was Spaceship Earth. You can tell he is about as happy as he can be. I am totally in love with Basic Grey's new collection "Oliver". This is my first layout using it and I can already tell that I will be needing another full pack of this. I was especially happy to find out that it matched Epcot's enterance areas so well. Oh and the stamped journaling spot is also Basic Grey, it's called "Notes" from the Basics collection - seriously awesome set of stamps.

Dad memories

Here was my story...no tissues needed. LOL!

I lost my dad a few years ago to heart disease. The good news is that he was never ill and really enjoyed his life while he was here. My little story about Daddy is so typical of our life with him. Our lakehouse flooded and when cleaning it out, he crawled into the giant AC duct with a blow torch to dry it out...yes, you heard me correctly. My sister and brother were in the house with me and we heard a big "POOF!" sound and then black smoke billowed out and Daddy was saying "its fine..." He comes out with a black face, no eyebrows and says "it's dry now". My sister was crying, my brother and I were telling him how dangerous that was. We were so mad. Now years later, it's one of our favorite stories and I so wish I had that photo to scrapbook. LOL!!!!!

The C K Holliday

Walt's Trains at Disneyland are just so beautiful and one day and I always think of him when I see the engineers waving. I did this for a challenge from Disney Scrappers. All of the patterned papers are Graphic 45 and most are from the Transatlantique Collection, because it has lovely trains, but the one plaid is from the Communique Collection. I made the roses by following Nancy Burke's tutorial HERE. Check it out because they are simple and fun.

Lap Please

This photo is Noel's begging face and there are usually songs. She would like CHICKEN, a lap, or a blanket warmed in the dryer, please. This week's Color Room Palette was perfect for photos of Noel. I used Sketch Savvy #32 for the layout. I use Basic Grey papers along with some older Prima flowers that I have been avoiding for a long time. The spritz is Glimmer Mist in Graphite and then I splattered some paint too.

Peace, Love, & Mickey Mouse

This is my layout for the Color Room Palette #11. It got a bit funky and off balanced but I still like it. Dh says START OVER! lol. He's not fond of white space. I used mostly My Mind's Eye Summer Song Collection with a bit of Basic Grey Green at Heart. I made the flower and Peace Mickey's in Photoshop and had my Cricut cut them out for me. The photos are from Pop Century Resort and the YoYo is actually taller than the building. It covers the end where the outside stairs would be.

Palette #10

Don't laugh. Do you ever have a page just go really wrong? and then, do you share it??? This Color Room palette looked so great to me when I saw it and then I went digging back in time for these ancient Daisy Ds papers because I knew the colors would work. It's not the papers' fault that I made this ugly page. LOL! Actually if I hadn't added the circle, it would have been fine - but I put red buttons around in a circle. Oh, bad bad idea, but taking them off left paper missing so I had to put something there - so mickeys happened. I stopped there and just called it done.

So yeah, these are a couple of funny photos of the boys at Downtown Disney. I always dare them to walk very slowly (one foot in front of the other) across the splashy waters. Of course, I do this so that I will get photos of boys getting wet! But Alex is unique, he never gets wet. In 2007 I dared Brett and got my wet photos. I will have to scrap them one day too.

Legosaurus

(oops - before anyone goes crazy trying to find the hidden mickey...I forgot to attach it before the photo. Sorry. I just punched a small mickey and stuck it on the red lego. LOL!) We love Legos and I took alot of photos of the guys with the legos in Downtown Disney. This legosaurus was one of my faves. I used Cosmo Cricket's Cogsmo and Garden Variety collections. And then I "borrowed" a few legos from one of our buckets. The font is called Legobold.

I wish I was floating along...

One of our favorite things at the Disney Waterparks is the Castaway Creek at Typhoon Lagoon. It's beautiful, tropical, and relaxing, but the music coming from the shore just pushes it over the top. I just really wish my camera was waterproof because these disposeable cameras take terrible photos. The New Boardwalk Collection by Little Yellow Bicycle with it's whitewashed tropical colors and swirly water paper is just the right feeling for these silly photos. I love the hibiscus that you can cut out.

The title is just black dimensional fabric paint.

No Ears. No Magic

This is my brother and I just love the photo, but I don't love his shirt. Thanks to "title queen" Tami for the fun twist on his shirt for the title! And the colors in the photo were really challenging me til I got these So Sophie papers by My Minds Eye. I noticed that they seem to go with ALOT of my Disney photos so you will be seeing alot more of them. My favorite part are the flowers. I die cut the pink background flower and then cut the other layers from the design in the patterned paper. It made a great dimensional flower that reminded me of something you would see in It's a Small World. lol The dots are Liquid Pearls White Opal and they look really cool in real life.

My Minds Eye Blog Challenge #12

I just love the sketch at My Mind's Eye Blog for this challenge, it gave me plenty of room to play with these Abbey Road papers. I love their dino papers and I just had to use this little Pterodon dude! They are perfect for Dinoland at Animal Kingdom, but I guess you know that because I had plenty of fun with them on my Dino Rama page! (Still my fave page)

Surfs up

Isn't this Breaking Free Collection from My Mind's Eye just perfect for the enterance to Typhoon Lagoon with the "Woody" in the background?! I love the paper with the little wood sides on it. I just had to add a palm tree and some hibiscus flowers too. I drew then and then had my cricut cut them for me. The font for the title is Baveuse. The beads are a beaded trim that I just stitched under the edge of the papers

Flowers and Fluff

My good friend gave me this EverAfter collection from Cosmo Cricket because she knew I love using it with Figaro and she also gave me Fig! Thanks Michelle! I used Nancy Burke's rose tutorial for the yellow roses and they were so easy and look so great. See Nancy's Rose Tutorial HERE. Then for the little coral flowers, I punched three 1" Scalloped circles, dampened and crumpled them, and attached with a mini brad. The white flower is the same punch but I cut toward the center and added fluff cut from a chenile stem. :) If you click on the close up photo it will expand and you can see it more clearly.

Ho'Onanea

Well at the Polynesian Resort they say that they celebrate Ho'Onanea. The Hawaiian translation of this is the passing of time in a relaxation and languid tranquility. On our last day at WDW, the guys were worn out and I suggested an afternoon at the beach at the Poly instead of just going back to our resort. Actually I wanted to stay at the Magic Kingdom, but this was fun too. Alex found the best spot for a beautiful view of the Grand Floridian, the Magic Kingdom, and the Contemporary.

I used Fancy Pants "Rusted Sun" and a piece of "Sun Splashed" from We R Memory Keepers.

I love a parade (Color Room #9)

I just really don't like to scrap them because the colors are so exciting, the characters are wonderful and if you put them all together, they lose their individual coolness! So sometimes I just have to do individual photos. I just love the scenes in Sleeping Beauty when Flora and Meriweather are fighting over whether Aurora's dress should be pink or blue, so I used that for this page.

This is for The Color Room Palette #9 and I had seen a layout by Jan Hobbins useing these Magnolia papers by My Mind's Eye and she cut out the flourishes so I had to do it too. See Jan's beautiful layout HERE. I also used some K&Co chipboard and my new EK daisy chain punch - which I think is pretty cool.

Orchids

I took a bunch of flower photos when we went to the Rainforest Pyramid at Moody Gardens, but the orchids were looking the best. I used the Latte Stack by DCWV with the matching cardstock stack, and then I just painted the vines.

This is for Color Room Challenge #8. I am a bit behind AND I didn't quite follow the palette, but this is as close as I could get. I just don't have the right photos or papers for these colors :)

2nd Time

This is a silly page but we were so excited to ride in the nose cone of the monorail for the 2nd time in one day. It was our first time to do this and we thought it was pretty cool. Dh and ds are always ready for a cheesy shot.

I used all October Afternoon paper, mostly from the Road Map collection Love this stuff! The glittered cardstock is DCWV. Then I added a bit of Stickles and some tiny sequins
