Yep, that's me! And I know it is hard to believe but I was only 20 months old in this photo. I don't think mom ever stopped feeding me! lol The photo is from a slide that was a bit dark. I asked them to lighten it a bit but it is kind of blue. LOVE these Playtime Past papers from Graphic 45 for my old photos. I need to make a point of getting more done. This was for one of the Daily Challenges at Serendipity Scrapbooks - to use the unexpected. The little flowers are made by punching Starbucks cup holders, the yellow ruffle is a cupcake liner and the little blue tag is one of those things that holds bread bags shut.

Fave Halloween paper 09

New Basic Grey Eerie! Do you love this collection as much as I do? omgosh. This year there are actually several amazing halloween collections and I cant figure out which is my favorite - SO.... I have decided that I need to play with ALL of it until I can decide which is best! LOL!

Now I loved the MME "Spiders Web" because it went so well with my Batman photo where there was no orange and its perfect for photos of Noel and Pirates of the Caribbean. I have to say its the best Halloween collection for my non-halloween things that need those cool gold and black tones. But this "Eerie" has the great oranges, greens, and even a purple that I like -which, in itself is odd. I love these jouraling thingies and wait til you see the chipboard!

Easter Afternoon

Yes, I am using the new Christmas Basic Grey "Eskimo Kisses" for an Easter layout. :) I just think alot of these papers are perfect for springtime and they just went so well with these photos I took last year of Alex and Savvy.

Paper Piercing

This isn't the old school lacey vellum paper piercing. Try it with cardstock and patterned papers. If you use your DCWV white core or Coredinations colored core cardstocks, you can get some pretty cool effects.

For this layout I made a journaling block with Coredinations, punctured holes and then sanded them to reveal the blue core.

Kreinik Iron on braids and threads

I have had a few questions about the iron on threads and braids and also about the Clover Iron so I thought I would share my favorite tip. I love my little Clover iron but I burned myself far too many times and using the Teflon press cloth on top of the treads was annoying me because you kind of have to be patient and I am NOT patient. LOL! You can get pieces of adhesive press cloth for the bottom of your mini iron, but this still doesn't solve the burning. I found this tip online and tried it and now I never get burned and I dont have to bother with the press cloth at all. Here is the iron:


Now you get a Teflon Press cloth and cut a 4" circle about and wrap it around the tip of the iron, then wrap a wire around the neck to secure the cloth - making sure the foot area of the iron is smooth. You can even be clumsy and bump yourself with the til and not burn yourself badly! LOL! Seriously, this solved even my burned hands.

And playing with some totally fun Kreinik threads and braids! Here are the supplies I used for this layout. I think this is the first time I have left part of the iron on braids as a loop and not ironed it. I really like the look and I think I need to do some loopy flowers!

Alex Under the Sea with Sebastian

I had been wanting to do this page forever because I kind of knew what I wanted but just couldn't figure out HOW I was going to do it. I totally love the way it turned out though. I really like the photo.

IKE Mini Album part 1

Last year I tried to get started on this mini and I did most of the cover, but never got any further. I just decided last week to finally start working on it. I added Glimmer Mist "platinum" to the cover and inside cover using a cool "Garden Ironwork" stencil by My Tattered Angels. Then I just kept using the Basic Grey Granola along with some grey sheets from Paper Studio and kraft paper cardstock. I used my Sizzix Bick Kick to cut some cardstock covered chipboard by DCWV. This little stick and leaves was just what I needed. I got almost all of the pages finished but I need to print 2 more photos that I cant seem to find.

Well its getting close to the one year anniversary of IKE so I was thinking I should scrap some of the photos! This is actually a page for my brother about his house. I had alot of fun with these colors of Basic Grey papers - mostly "Granola" collection and the goodies from Tattered Angels. I had seen a layout with columns of paper like this where she doodled around each piece and I just had to give it a try. I love the look. Then it was a bit too clean for a hurricane page so I gave it a few spritzes in the upper left and lower right with Graphite and Gold Glimmer Mists. LOVE that Graphite color. I still think I need some darker black kind of color, but this was perfect for the windy rainy hurricane feeling. I used a few pieces of the Regal Glimmer Chips too and they were just the right touch. I wish you could see how the shimmery effect is in real life. I took several photos so hopefully you get the idea. My background is white cardstock.

Cinderella's Carousel *Serendipity Sept kit*

Can you tell that I really loved all of these goodies in the Serendipity Scrapbooks Sept "I deserve it all" kit??? LOL! I knew the second that I got it, there would be alot of hand cutting to get these vines and flowers popped with foam tape. I really hadn't used the BG half pearls before and now I am totally loving them. I ended up ordering like 5 packs.

Angie always has her hair in a ponytail or hat at Disney - drives me nuts when I get photos back. But I love this photo of her in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. I did add a little Cinderella EK sticker that is not in the kit - you just have to have those bits of Disney sometimes
