Advent House

I found this wooden house at Walmart 2 years ago and just never altered it until now. I added a few coats of paint and sanded it to make it look sort of old. The papers are Basic Grey Wassail and the glitter is just old chunky clear glitter. I really like the way it turned out but I wish the little doors were bigger. I never thought about it but those doors are SMALL! I bought hersheys kisses and bells to put in it and they barely fit in the small doors. I always got advent chocolates for the boys, so Alex is already looking forward to it.

Noel Frame

I LOVE the new Basic Grey Wassail collection and I knew it would be perfect for home dec projects. I wanted this frame to have a quilty look so I roughed the edges and stitched the squares to the background. I really hope BG makes this collection into one of their fabric collections.

Give Thanks

I made this as a gift but it turned out so cute that I had to share. It's stitched onto scraps from an old quilt.

This photo is one of my favorites and when I saw this Ambrosia Collection by Basic Grey, I knew I had to have it. I really love the way this turned out. I have made the photo section detachable so that I can use it in my new little Daily Window Handbag for Fall. Yes, I know its very springy but I love the fall colors of the Ambrosia. I created this little butterfly by stitching the paper pieces to the felt and then adding a few french knots. I want Basic Grey to create fabric with this collection. :)

Holiday Planner for Dummies...

Yes, I am the dummy. I wore out my old planner and had to make a new one because I depend on this silly spiral planner. Its just a watercolor spiral with tabs and a pocket for receipts. I just really need ONE place to write ideas for gifts, then list what I end up buying (thru the year) and WHERE I hid the thing so that I dont forget and find hidden gifts 3 years later. I used a bunch of old discontinued Basic Grey Blitzen (love that stuff) and several vintage images from Altered Pages.

Love this BAG!

omg, this is just the cutest handbag ever. Not only can I personalize it with cards like this one or photos and scrapbook pages, but look how cute it is! lol. I really love the buckles and grommets in the top. This is another handbag from Daily Window and it's called the Very Necessary Mini and I had to test it out with this cute Valentines card. Yes, I know I need to change it to Fall. Actually I had a photo of Savvy in it but I thought that was too much. LOL!

The card is mostly Flair Valentine papers and the stamps are from the Story Boards set by Inque Boutique/Darice.

Dare to be remarkable

I am so excited to show you guys these totally remarkable handbags by Daily Window. They have this cool 5.25 x 8" window and you can slip photos, cards, mini quilts, fabric, Scrapbook them and swap them out anytime because you just slip it into a zippered pocket. I can't really tell you how nice they are because you would just have to touch them. Really nicely constructed and so many neat features. This bag is called the Eight Days a Week bag and its nice and big, has a beautiful apple green lining and a couple of pockets inside, including the high cell phone pocket that I cant live without. It's big enough to carry 12x12 papers and things to a crop too which I may end up doing when I crop on Thursdays. Oh and the straps and buckles with the white stitching are just really nice looking in real life. I am picky about that kind of thing.

Anyway, I used this beautiful Urban Prairie collection from Basic Grey to create a card with some bling that I am carrying in the bag right now. I am thinking that I need to wait til the temperature is below 80 degrees here before I put a holiday card in. LOL!

Drink up me Mousy, Yo Ho!!!

I am sorry but this is the cutest little guy I have ever seen and every time I look at him I want to sing "Drink up me mousy..." I wish I could take credit for him but my very talented friend, Heidi, created this little guy and has him listed HERE in her Etsy shop. If you check it out, look at the close up shots of his adorable little gold teeth! Could he just be any cuter!

crisp cool fall days...

Can someone send me some nice fall weather, please?! It's 80 degrees here but I am ready for fall and Thanksgiving. I just finished my fall pumpkin box and all I need is some hot cider, a homemade cinnamon cookie, and cooler weather!!!

I was inspired by the beautiful creations of Linda Albrecht so I decided to create a fall pumpkin box using some of the beautiful fall Melissa Frances papers, chipboard leaf, and tags. I stole some berry stems out of my soup toureen to help tie it all together. I may have gotten a bit carried away adding beads to the lace and now I am not very happy about that, but it's still really cute and goes so well with my other fall goodies. (no, I still don't have napkins for my cute napkin holder.LOL)

I just love fall, not that we really have it here, but the colors are beautiful. I got my fall/Thanksgiving things out this past weekend and decided that I needed a napkin holder. I used some crackle paint and these beautiful Melissa Frances papers and stickers to decorate it. Now I just need some nice linen napkins to put in it.

Halloween 08 moments

At our house, Alex is the master treat giver. The kids just love his costumes every year. I think Batman has been the favorite. After he attempts to scare them, they always end up saying thank you and then they turn around and run off saying, "Mom! It was Batman!". He loves it. He did get a few of the older kids to scream when he scared them, and Noel was not happy with that. She does not like Halloween and Savvy stayed up at the top of the stairs all evening. I got a few fun shots, most were Alex's idea though. Of course we watched our halloween movies, ate goodies, went people watching, and visited neighbors. *notice The Ghost and Mr Chicken on our tv.
