Runoff Rapids and Gang Plank Falls

If these names sound familiar, you must love the Disney World Waterparks as much as my family does. :)  I am still working with the gorgeous summer colors of the Scraptastic Club July Rock Lobster Kit and Add on kit, along with the Rock Lobster Stamp set.  I took full advantage of the fact that the papers in this kit are perfect for our Disney trip photos and scrapped one layout from Blizzard Beach and one from Typhoon Lagoon.

This first one is Gang Plank Falls which is the name of the ride we were starting when my sister snapped this photo. Its just a great ride and the whole park is fantastic. I used the nautical stamps that are in the Rock Lobster Stamp set and first I stamped some anchors. I wiped the stamp across a waterbased Ranger Distressed ink pad, stamped off one time and then stamped on the background for light weathered looking images. Then I stamped the "Adventure this way" stamp using mixed embossing powders to get a color that matched.

My second layout is Runoff Rapids at Blizzard Beach, not that you can really tell by the photo but I wanted a fun title so I figured out which ride it was by the tubes. LOL!

All of my Blizzard Beach pages have things like Snowflakes just for fun and I wasn't really sure where to incorporate them here so I just tucked them into the arrow shapes that I cut from patterned paper, scraped, and stitched to my page.  I also added a little stamping just for fun using the "Out on the Town" Stamp set from Scraptastic Club. First I had to use the "photo op" stamp on the little tab above the photo because its a great font and perfect size for a tab. Then I added a few tiny hearts in pale pink in a few spots and if you look under the camera that I cut out and raised with foam tape, there are some green stamped images that are like a zigzag doodled design. I like the pale ink for a watercolor or white washed effect with this type of a page. Not all stamped images have to be bold so try going subtle with your stamps or layering them in the background for depth.
