Home for the Holidays *DCWV

Have you seen the new DCWV Home For The Holidays Stack? Its got the perfect reds and greens that you need for your holiday photos but it also has black which I love because it seems everyone likes to wear black during the holidays in most of my photos. This is not a good photo because I was in a hurry. Lots of gift buying left to do. ;)

For my layout I used mostly the Home For the Holidays Stack, but the little piece that I cut from a journaling spot for the title is actually from the DCWV Merry Memories Stack which is also new and it might just be my favorite for this year so you will see a layout soon, I hope. I also die cut snowflakes from some DCWV white glittered paper and of course I added some DCWV gold foil patterned vellum.

and here is a close up because these papers have glittered accents that I am not really capturing well. I cut the poinsettias from one of the papers and just layered. In the upper right I added the words "love it" that I cut from one of the patterned papers that has holiday words all over.

Sketchy Inspiration from Scraptastic Club

I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season.  I have been so busy that I had forgotten to share the layout that I made for the November Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic Club. Visit Scraptastic's Blog HERE to be completely inspired by the amazing layouts from our design team

For my layout I scrapped a layout from last November when we had breakfast with Pooh one morning. I used the beautiful November Ain't No Sunshine kit, Add on Kit, Digital Cut file, and stamps from the Feels Like Home Stamp Set and Foodie Stamp Set which I will share an image of below.

I just love this little place setting stamp and it is exactly the right size for me to punch a white cardstock Pooh to put behind the plate, so I stamped on vellum and heat embossed with gold. I might need to apologize now for how many times I will use that stamp! I also gold embossed a couple of the label image stamps. I cut the digital cut file from vellum and it works beautifully but you really have to be patient when removing it from the mat or it will tear.

Here is the Foodie Stamp set. Isn't it perfect!

Thank You Butterfly Card * Scraptastic Club kit

So you know when you need a card for someone and you just don't think you have time to make one? I am bad about not making cards so I decided to buy some cheater cards. I got basic thank you notes that had a big open center and I could just add some nice embellishment. Today I needed a thank you for a sweet friend and I used some of the extra goodies from the Scraptastic Aint No Sunshine kit and Add on Kit. I love layering embellishments and a couple of scraps of patterned papers were exactly the size I needed too.

& Piglet Too! Scraptastic Aint No Sunshine

This month I just had to have both of the Scraptastic Club kits and I just totally love everything about the Aint No Sunshine kit and Add on Kit. For this layout I also used a couple of stamps from the Aint No Sunshine Stamp Set and Feels Like Home Stamp Set.

Oh I just noticed I also used the cute scalloped frame from the Feels like Home Kit. The metallic gold in this kit really adds so much to the layout but it doesn't photograph well at all.

I really love these two stamp sets for adding a little bit to any layout. I stamped the geotag on my journaling card at the top and the "I want to remember these Moments" at the bottom. I stamped the circle tag image on vellum and heat embossed with gold and I was happy to find that it is exactly the perfect size for flair to go in the center. I will have to stamp a bunch of these and punch them out so I have them ready for other layouts.

Pretty Fall with Scraptastic's Feels Like Home kit

I don't really get nice fall color except for a couple of pretty trees in my yard and they turn just before Christmas. Last year I got a very nice photo and the blues and corals were perfect for the Scraptastic Club November Feels Like Home kits.

I used the Feels Like Home Kit, Add on Kit, and the Aint No Sunshine Digital cut file.
I just love the metallic washi tapes in this kit, but the puffy fox has to be my favorite thing.

Catching up

Sometimes I forget to post some of the layouts that I just do for fun. I thought I would share a couple of recent layouts today that are disney pages that I don't think I have posted here. Not alot of info here or close ups, just sharing quickly because I thought you might like to see them.

Bioluminescent: This one is just fun and I love the title. LOL!

Chef Mickey's : Have to share this one with a close up because the "Sweet Girl" collection from EP is so cute but also because I played with my Fuse tool. Super fun

a close up of my confetti 20

City Sidewalks: I am trying to use more photos on pages so that my Albums don't take over the world. It's tricky to put three large photos on one page and not get all cluttered, but I like this one. Did you notice there isn't a title? not sure how I feel about that

Heigh Ho: this one that I totally copied from my scrappy friend Orlanda. Great paper choice and layout so I just did what she did.

Indiana Jones: And finally this one because I used some digi print and cut files. Gotta do that more. ...and see, 3 photos. :)

Snow Balls: Because it's fun.

DCWV October Stack-a-holic Sketch challenge

It's time for the October Stack-a-holic Sketch Challenge at DCWV's Blog. If you love DCWV stacks, CLICK HERE to see all of the inspiration and to play along.

Here's the sketch, #151 from Sketch Savvy

And for my example I used the new DCWV Spooky Delight Stack

I also used gold dot vellum from the 6x6 Foiled Vellum stack, but in these photos it totally looks black, just believe me, its gold :) Also hard to see, the black parts of the patterned paper are sort of shiny like black foil.

MGM blue! *DCWV Marquee

If you have ever scrapbooked Disney photos, you know the struggle of finding blue paper. I don't mean teal or aqua because every collection has those, but actual BLUE. Think Sorcerers hat blue. Well, I have recently been going back and trying to scrap the rest of my first trip with my guys to DisneyWorld and I found these photos. It was the year of the celebration that was the reason for the hat at MGM studios and I am so glad I have photos from a few trips since it was recently removed.

There is a new collection by DCWV called the Marquee stack that is totally the right blue and will even work for all of those Frozen photos you have because it has light blue and lavender as well. Check it out HERE.

I used the background paper and the blue glittered dot paper from that stack, along with lots of other DCWV papers and vellum from other stacks. If you haven't already notice, I love the gold foil vellum stacks. This chevron vellum is from the 6x6 Foiled Vellum stack. I also punched some stars from gold foil on white paper in the Luxe Stack.  And I found the little mickey punched from cardstock in one of my drawers. I don't even have that punch. It must be from like 10 years ago. LOL!

Gamers and the Sept Scraptastic Club kits

There are alot of gamers in my house and I am not one of them, because you know it would eat into my scrapping time, right???  So, today I want to share a couple of layouts I made with this month's Scraptastic Club Centerfield kit, Add on Kit, Stamp Set, and Cut file, along with the Skinny Love Cut file and Lunch Notes Stamp Set.

First this is my smallest gamer, Noel. She just loves the games on my tablet where you get to splat the mice. I cut the background paper apart and then reattached it on white cardstock leaving out some of the rows that were white so I could journal and add my title.

For the word Gamer in the title, I used the awesome 8 bit looking alpha stamps in the Centerfield stamp set. I totally loved the cut file from the other kit this month (Skinny Love kit) because its little kitty faces, so I used a piece of that behind Noel's photo with a piece of vellum from my stash

For my second page I used older photos of my husband when we were staying at the Pop Century Resort at DisneyWorld. The exclusive papers and vellum die cuts in this kit were made for photos of Space Invaders.

I totally loved the pac man  screen looking cut file in this kit so I made it a bit smaller and used it in the upper right of my layout.

The title is just die cut from black cardstock scraps, but the little sideways blocky arrows are actually stamped and embossed with black embossing enamel on black cardstock and cut out so they are glossy in person. The lines for the journaling are a great stamp in the Lunch Notes Stamp Set this month. And of course the cute little ghosts and alien are exclusive vellum die cuts that are in this kit.

Pinterest Monday inspiration from Scraptastic

Every monday we have Pinterest inspiration on the Scraptastic Club blog but right now the site is undergoing a big upgrade so I will share it with you here on my blog. This is the image that Rory and I chose to use.

I just love the mix of colors and patterns in the quilt of the Pinterest image and I thought it would be a perfect way to use up some of my kit stash, so I chose the scraps from the July Summertime Rolls kit and Add on kit. I created circles by cutting long triangles and then attaching them in the center to a small white cardstock circle punch so that I could machine stitch in a spiral to hold them all together before attaching these circle elements to my page

Black and White with the New DCWV Jet Black Stack

When I saw this NEW DCWV Jet Black stack I knew I would love having all the great black and white papers in my collection but first I had to do a page with photos of my Savvy! I had trouble deciding which papers to use so I picked a design that would let me use several. This year Savvy turned 9 and I took him out to the patio to take a few photos in better light. I found his adoption photo and added it to show then and now. :) Of course I had to add a little paw print flair from The Crafty Pickle.

And for a pop of color to go with my photos, I used a floral print from the DCWV Hello Darlin' stack and the super cute vellum bow from the DCWV DIY Mini Album stack.

And for a little sparkle I added a piece of the gold dot foiled vellum from the new 12x12 Premium Vellum with Foil stack.

Time to Shop

Well if you are not a Doctor Who fan, this page will not make a whole lot of sense. It's one of our family faves and we were so excited that they are carrying the merchandise in UK EPCOT. I love this Pink Paislee Pen Pals collection for Doctor Who because of the perfect patriotic colors, TARDIS blue, and hearts! (you have to be a geek to get this stuff, sorry ) Then I got this awesome set of Doctor Who flair from The Crafty Pickle!

I found an image on the TARDIS online and cut it out with my silhouette.

And because this flair is so awesome, heres another little close up. :) I painted in a few triangles and I like the look so I will look for papers that work like this again. This paper reminded me of EPCOT's Spaceship Earth a bit.

Rise and Shine *Scraptastic Club

Have you seen the August Scraptastic Club kits? If not, CLICK HERE to see all of the kits, add on kits, digital print and cut files, and stamp sets for this month. There are alot to choose from and they are so pretty this month. Here's my first layout using the "Wednesday Night" kit, Add on kit, and Elastic Heart Stamp Set. I cut the palm trees from a scrap of paper from last month's Summertime Rolls kit.

When I saw the sun burst paper I knew I wanted to cut out rays but then I looked at the back of the paper and there was this awesome multi colored print that I just loved. I decided to use some of the rays reversed so I could have both sides. Since I only used about 2/3rds of this paper, I saved the other section for a 2nd layout with sun rays. I totally love the Elastic Heart Stamp Set and the Remember This stamp is my fave so you will probably be seeing it alot on my pages.

here is a peek at the stamp set.

Chef Mickey and Magic from Queen & Co

Do you love the "Magic" collection by Queen &Co? I just really love the Disney look with great accents without being too themey. I added a neutral background color and some gold, but this collection is just ideal for Chef Mickey's photos at the Contemporary Resort. I think Mickey pages just need a little splatter of black paint :)

Do you love the great blue and red papers, they are exactly the shade you need for mickey and minnie, along with other disney photos. And just look at the mouse gloves! I used a chipboard fork and embossed with gold tinsel embossing powder

New Ocean Breeze Stack from DCWV

I love all things nautical but I am really having fun with this NEW DCWV Ocean Breeze Stack! Such great designs and then silver foiling for accents. My sister just happens to have the perfect swimsuit for this stack. Stop by JoAnns and pick this stack up.

Here's a little close up of the super cute designs. These little cards are cut from the papers and I added 2 pink gems also from DCWV.

and another angle so that you can see that all of these grey looking parts are actually a silver foil.
