Today is sketchy thursday on the Scraptastic blog so I have a fun example to share with you.
For my example layout I used the Summertime Rolls kit, Add on kit, and Digital Print and Cut files. and I used the negative space of the cut file swirls on this page after using the actual swirled design on one of my other layouts.
CLICK HERE to jump to the Scraptastic Blog so that you can get the sketch and play along, but also so you can see the incredible layouts that the Design Team have created.
here is a little close up because this kit is just so awesome.
I punched holes across the top of the poolside die cut so that it would look like a spiral tear.

Piglet and the new Little Darlin' Stack from DCWV
Have you seen the New DCWV Little Darlin' Stack? It's gorgeous and has the best gold foil accents!
I used this stack for my layout about having breakfast with Piglet. Piglet is tricky but the shades of pink in this stack are perfect. I love the fresh designs and especially the gold accents. The white with gold dots is one of my faves but for this page I love the multi color "honeycomb" with gold paper.
The tag, today strip, oval block, and floral die cut shapes are all cut from one of the papers. The vellum bow is from the new Mini Album DIY stack.

Chef Mickey and Magic from Queen & Co
Do you love the "Magic" collection by Queen &Co? I just really love the Disney look with great accents without being too themey. I added a neutral background color and some gold, but this collection is just ideal for Chef Mickey's photos at the Contemporary Resort. I think Mickey pages just need a little splatter of black paint :)
Do you love the great blue and red papers, they are exactly the shade you need for mickey and minnie, along with other disney photos. And just look at the mouse gloves! I used a chipboard fork and embossed with gold tinsel embossing powder

New Ocean Breeze Stack from DCWV
I love all things nautical but I am really having fun with this NEW DCWV Ocean Breeze Stack! Such great designs and then silver foiling for accents. My sister just happens to have the perfect swimsuit for this stack. Stop by JoAnns and pick this stack up.
Here's a little close up of the super cute designs. These little cards are cut from the papers and I added 2 pink gems also from DCWV.
and another angle so that you can see that all of these grey looking parts are actually a silver foil.

2 more with the July Scraptastic kit
The "Summertime Rolls" kit, Add on kit, Digital Print and Cut files, and Stamp Set from Scraptastic is just so much fun and if you haven't seen them, check them out HERE now. Today I have 2 layouts to share.
This first one was super quick because as soon as I opened the kit and saw the flamingo paper and cards, I knew I had to do an Animal Kingdom flamingo page! Did you know the flamingo island is a hidden mickey? :) I just can not get a good photo showing the shape but I think its cool.
My favorite bit is the flamingo card and the nice flower cluster sticker with the gold foil.
For my second layout I went mostly yellow and blue for a sunny look.
I cut out some more of the digi cut file waves. I just love that wave!

The Ff card is cute but works better with a Mickey punch and do you love the pink camera die cut!

Ah-maz-ing Summertime Rolls kits from Scraptastic
Seriously, the Summertime Rolls kit and Add on Kit from Scraptastic Club this month are AMAZING! Oh and the digital print and cut files and stamp set!
but believe me when I say that once some of the designers show you what
they have created, these are going to sell out. When I opened up the
kit and saw this background paper, I thought "WOW! Great paper, but I
don't know how to use it." I decided just to go for it because it's a
shame to cut it. It's a perfect background if you add some contrast
under your photo so that's what I did.
I used the cool wave swirls Digital Cut File and duplicated it and then welded it together for a large swirled design and cut it from white cardstock. It is the perfect layer over a patterned paper like this that you still want to be able to see in the negative space. I also love the alphas but wanted a sort of long word in a short space so I broke up the word and made a block title.
I had alot of fun with this page. I hope you will try to use a bold patterned paper for a background too.

I
also layered the cute yellow dot transparency under the photo and it
sort of looks like its floating over the die cut and background which
works with the photo of my sister and the dolphin.
Now
a little close up of the upper right. One of the things I love about
these kits is that they have such great elements that totally make the
page special, like the gold foil stickers and these huge enamel dots.

Summertime and New DCWV
I am excited to share a layout using a new stack from DCWV. Ok yes, there are tons of good stacks but this one is pretty cool! It's the size of normal 12x12" paper stacks but it's called a DIY Project Stack "Mini Albums". It's got coordinating double sided patterned papers in 12x12", some papers are divided into six 4x6 patterned papers, there are 12x12 vellum patterned papers as well as the vellum to cut into six 4x6" pieces, patterned paper and vellum sheets with shapes, labels, tags, and 3 dimension elements to cut out... there are envelopes you can cut out, pockets, a sticker sheet.... AND there are instruction sheets in back if you want to do 2 mini albums! Seriously, it's such a cool stack and I am not even doing a mini album. Check out my layout using only this stack and adding some alpha stickers and mist and one brad. It's like all the embellishments are included. I have been wanting a stack like this for a long time.
Now for the very best part... the vellum pinwheel and bow are cut outs that I just used diamond glaze to assemble! Can you stand the cuteness? You will see more of these bows on my pages for no reason at all other than I just have to use them.
Yes that today vellum element is a cut out! You may not already know this but I love fun vellum. :)
seriously watch for it at JoAnns. LOL! Look at the triangle print vellum! See the sunshine? thats a full 12x12 paper that is yellow to white ombre. There are several colors like that. The journaling block under the title is a cut out.

A little extra something from the Crafty Pickle
Today I want to share some fun flair and sequins that I just got from the Crafty Pickle. I love to add flair now and then to my pages and you know I like to play with sequins, round or shaped. Well first let me show you some of the adorable flair I got. I had to have the disney and the kitties. Well there is also this Cinema sequin pack that is ideal for using with photos from Disney's Hollywood Studios HERE but I forgot to take a photo of the pack.
Ok now here is my layout. I used the Magic flair and the glittery Parade flair.
I also used some of the sequins because the movie reel sequin and the large gold sequins are exactly perfect for a hidden mickey!
here is a close look at the glittery flair.
Pinterest Monday at Scraptastic Club
On Mondays the Scraptastic Club Blog shares Pinterest Inspiration and a couple of layouts or cards by the Designers using that inspiration. Today Jennie and I got to play along and I hope we will inspire you to give it a go. HERE is the Pinterest Pin that inspired us.
For my layout I used the Summertime Rolls Kit, Add On Kit, and Print and Cut Digital files. When I looked at the image I loved the glass with the fun white fonts over the balloons. I chose to use a white background like the inside of the window. I layered patterned papers, a photo, and the fantastic swirly wave cut file under the yellow dot transparency like the balloons behind the shiny window.

I
cut the digital cut file waves from white patterned paper and
watercolored them to match the papers. I love the whimsical white font
used in the Pinterest inspiration image so I chose a fun font and filled
in some of the letters like the inspiration piece, then cut out my
title with white cardstock and layered over the transparency.
One
more hint at the window in the lower right corner. I layered this cute
pineapple transparency die cut over my date label. Now visit the blog to see
the fun card that Jennie was inspired to create.
