Scraptastic Club Store and Treats!

Did you know that Scraptastic Club now has a scrapbook store (HERE)!? I often get asked where I shop online for scrappy things now, who has the best customer service, fast delivery, newest products.... Well this is a brand new store so all the products are the newest and I may have placed more than one order. :)

I am also happy to announce that I am on the Scraptastic Club Store Design Team and today was my first blog post! The store Design Team will be posting at 2pm EST so visit the Scraptastic Club Blog every day for the morning posts by the Kit Design Team members and then again in the afternoon for even more inspiration from the Store!

Are you ready for Trick or Treating or maybe just treating? My guys will hand out candy, but they are grown up now, so we have our own little party with lots of treats. Have you seen the gorgeous Spooky Collection by Carta Bella Paper? These are nice thick textured cardstock that hold up beautifully when you make dimensional items. Don't forget that these papers and embellishments are perfect for not only your scrapping and cardmaking, but also when you need something extra special for entertaining.

October Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic

This week was Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic Club Blog and somehow I missed sharing it here, but there is still time to play along for a chance to win! Click Here to see the fantastic layouts by some of the other Design Team members.

For my example I used the October Thriller kit, add on kit, and the cut file from the October This Life Noted kit. And the sketch is #134 from Sketch Savvy HERE.

I used orange ink on the cute 31 wood veneer and then used clear embossing powder over that, it turned our really cool.

Make a Sketch Your Own Part 2: Lettering *Scraptastic Club

Today I am sharing a couple of my example layouts for my blog feature on Scraptastic Club Blog HERE.

For my layouts I am using the October "Thriller" kit, add on kit, and stamp set.
First I will share the sketch that inspired the two layouts below. Sketch #133 from SketchSavvy HERE

For my first example I have replaced the hexagon design area with a combination of my title letters to spell out "Halloween Ornaments" and some of the leftover alphas. This is a fun way to use up extra alphas that you have left in sets where you have used the most common letters. I especially love these glitter letters for a sparkly page element.

and here is a close up so you can see these great alphas and the cute flair and stamped images.

For my next example I rotated the sketch to the left, used 3 photos rather than the one, and for the long strip of paper I cut out the title "Halloween" about the same length and tucked it behind my photos. Also in the sketch there is a stitched line element that I have replaced with my journaling.

Now for a close up. I used the star cut file from the October This Life Noted digital cut file where the hexagons are in the sketch.

2 Thriller Layouts! Scraptastic Club

I know I shared a peek at the Thriller kit from Scraptastic Club, but look a little closer. Click here to see the Thriller kit, Add on kit, Thriller Digital Print and Cut Files, and Thriller Stamp set. Now I have to share a couple of layouts and a card that I created using these goodies! If you are like me, you looked at the kits and thought they would be great for trick or treaters photos.... but I don't have any cute little trick or treaters. I chose it because I do take photos on and around halloween of my grown up guys, my decor, and the treats we have during the halloween.

For my first layout I scrapped two photos of my halloween kitties who are not all that scary IF you give them treats. I love the woodgrain background! I used lots of the die cut stars for this one. Halloween should be sparkly and have lots of color so this kit was perfect for me.
Notice the little kitty? he is a wood veneer that I inked solid black and then sanded to reveal the woodgrain and the eyes. So cute.

For my second layout, about my son's Candy Corn addiction, I also used the Heart It Races digital Cut file, the tree and bats die by Carta Bella HERE, and I used the web stamp from the Thriller Stamp Set.

I layered the bat die cuts so they would have dimension. The square with the web is a wood veneer from the kit that I inked black and then sanded.

And finally...while I had papers out, I made this cute little card because I really wanted to use that owl die cut!

New Eek - a - Boo Stack from DCWV

You know my boys are not little cute trick or treaters anymore, but we do love halloween goodies and handing out candy every year. We have treats and cocktails and watch classics like The Ghost and Mr Chicken, Nightmare Before Christmas, Sleepy Hollow...  Anyway, I have to share a layout and card I made using the new DCWV "Eek - a - Boo" stack, a DCWV circles stencil and mist, my fave stack - the DCWV gold and black Foiled Vellum stack, and also one of the black glittered papers for the title. I have to point out that the black elements of the papers are foiled (kind of glossy) and its really nice in person, especially on the little bottles that I cut out of one of the papers.

***If you are a Doctor Who fan don't yell at me - I know the Dalek pumpkin's eyestalk should have blue - not red. I was hurrying and couldn't find my darn metallic blue paper. LOL!***

Also while I had all the papers out, I decided to make a tag card with some of the bits.

Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic

I am a bit behind on this one. I totally thought I posted this. oops....sorry. So here is my layout that I created for Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic for September. I used the fun papers from the We Will Rock You kit and Add on kit (which are still available HERE). The colors are gorgeous for any outdoor photos and I just happened to take photos of Alex on Easter demonstrating the proper way to blow bubbles. :)
This is Sketch #132 at Sketch Savvy HERE

I also used the "We Will Rock You"Stamp set and "High Strung" Stamp Set . I stamped with a blue chalk ink on Vellum then quickly while it was wet, I sprinkled clear embossing powder on it and heat embossed. Its really awesome in person but I don't know if you can really see it that well in my photos.
