Halloween Tree *DCWV Halloween &Fall Stack*

I am pretty sure I have shown you guys my Halloween tree before. I like Halloween to be very sparkly so I added some lighting effects to my photo. I used the DCWV Halloween and Fall Stack along with the Halloween epoxy and 3d sticker stack. This little felt hat was just exactly what I needed for my Halloween tree :) I cut the cool framed images out of one of the patterned papers and the title is cut from a halloween mat stack. Oh and one of the papers has a little hidden design that says, "die cuts with a boo" LOL!!! I thought that was pretty cute.

For the stitching I used bronze metallic threads by Kreinik, it really does add a sparkle.

Think, think, think...

I love this photo of my silly family at the shop outside the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I have scrapped it for my brother and sister but I hadn't scrapped it for me and I am so glad because this Echo Park So Happy Together collection was exactly the right colors and it has "honeycomb".

This is for a "using your stash" challenge at Disney Scrappers and I used a bunch of great papers, stickers, chipboard, and brads. I love this cute pinwheel. I found the pattern HERE. This layout is for Sketch #97 at Sketch Savvy HERE.

Cali *DCWV Sweet Blossom Stack

For this layout I used the New Sweet Blossom Stack by DCWV. I have to tell you that my photos do not do this layout justice, the texture of the paper in this collection is like a linen and its really nice. I just had to use the black canvas looking paper for the background, because it really makes the colors pop. I cut a fringe on both sides of a strip and stitched it at the top so that it will stick out of the top of the page protector.

Easy Chevrons *Echo Park*

Today was my first Echo Park Blog post HERE. I thought I would share the layout with you here as well. The chevrons are super easy to create and all you need is a square punch. Visit the EP blog here for my step by step instructions.

For my layout I used the Echo Park For the Record 2: Documented collection and then added a orange papers from the For the Record 2: Tailored collection. I just love these blues! Yeah, so it was my son's 23rd and we were teasing him about the candles. The funniest thing was that by the time my husband got the candles all lit, the first ones had about burned down half way. LOL! I told him we are going to the number candles next time so we don't have a wax covered cake and stinky house.

Have you tried the confetti on a layout yet? its very fun but its tough to make it look like its randomly dropped and then get it glued down like that. I kind of tossed some on the page and that did quite look right so this is carefully organized randomness. :)

Susan Stringfellow  *you are here :)

Now for the inspiration. I just got the beautiful New Echo Park "For the Record 2: Tailored Collection" wanted to share a nice summery layout with you guys. I love this collection because it has the most perfect summer colors and florals but with this cool pop of black in the patterned papers as well as the embellishments. Yes, this collection has awesome embellies including: Chipboard Accents, Layered Chipboard, and Decorative Brads.

This page is about my ever changing front yard. We have lost a huge pine, put in a little Red Maple, and added a bird bath that I just love, not that you can see the birdbath because my Vincas have taken over that flower bed and the Esperanza have taken over the front of my house. It's summer and we have had a bit of rain so my yard is a jungle and I like it. So I made a few daisies to go with the layered chipboard flower and really floral-ed up my page.

Have fun blog hopping!!!

Happy Halloween! **New DCWV Giveaway!**

Well, it may not be October yet but in the scrappy world, it's time for New Fall products! Have you seen the New DCWV Bewitched Stack yet? It totally makes me think of candy. I will share two of the layouts that I created using the 12x12 Bewitched Stack and coordinating Cardstock Stack, and then I will tell you how you might win the 4.5 x 6.5" Bewitched Matstack and coordinating adhesive Bewitched MatStack!!!

There is alot of glittery fun in this stack, and even some glossy black accents, that I could best describe as reminding me of patent leather - I used a sheet of it from the cardstock stack to cut out my titles.

My first layout is my son handing out candy and it's hard to believe he hasn't trick or treated in like 10 years! He was too tall when he was about 9. LOL! So now he tries to scare the kids by being the dark knight, but they pretty much just giggle - still it's fun. I used a text background print from the DCWV Timeless Type stack but everything else is from this Bewitched Stack. I made some spider webs by cutting strips of paper and gluing them to make a circle shape and then machine stitching with purple Kreinik metallic threads. It took me a couple to realize that the stitches can't be too close together or it will literally perforate the tiny paper strips and tear them apart. I like the way the threads made the webs curl upwards. I also used a couple of 3d stickers from DCWVs Halloween Combo Embellishment pack.

Now this layout... I wasn't sure if I would share because of the dark photos, but some of us don't have little ones and still take the silly halloween photos so I decided to go ahead. My photos are of my guys at a haunted garage down the street. There was a super creepy Jack in the box dude so my page is a bit freaky too. I had fun with the bright colors and I loved cutting out the big letters for Jack. I am not a fan of clowns so this was extra creepy for me.

Finally - For a chance to win these 4.5 x 6.5" Bewitched Matstack and coordinating adhesive Bewitched MatStack, leave me a comment here and tell me what you love about Halloween. Give me your name and email address please, and I will have one of my boys draw a winner on September 1st.

give it up, Papa!

Our boys call their grandfather, Papa. When he came over for the 4th of July I wanted to take some photos but since the boys tower over everyone, he tried to keep up by standing on tippy toes. It did not help, but it was a cute photo op. :)

I finally got my hands on this older Echo Park collection, A boys Life. It's a great collection with lots of very versatile papers, so I got the big pack that has two sheets from Hob Lob. Its even got the cutest video game controller sticker! I can't wait to use that. My guys are big gamers.

These Eyes *New DCWV Forever &Always Stack*

This New Forever and Always Stack by DCWV is full of great black, white, and grey patterned papers and some of them have a glossy black or holographic clear design. You really have to just see it in person. Yes, it can be considered a formal stack and there are some lovely wedding-ish papers but I love black, white, and grey prints for all kinds of things.

For my layout I chose a photo of my very monochromatic kitty, Figaro. His eyes are a gold/orange color but when I take photos sometimes they are super orange. He sleeps with his head thru the banister so he can keep an eye on everything.

I cut a bunch of patterned paper squares for the background and then decided that I needed a pop of orange so I added this awesome orange houndstooth print. I hope you can see that the print has a glittery gloss because it's one of my new fave papers. It's from the New Bewitched Stack from DCWV - stay tuned for more about that stack :) I tried to take photos very close so you could see the holographic clear embossing, it's pretty cool!

Liberty Belle

This is my layout for Sketch #95 at Sketch Savvy (Here). I love this large photo of the Liberty Belle in the Magic Kingdom. If you have time to talk to a cast member and wait, you can sometimes be the guest of the captain and even "steer". I bet its a great view so we hope to do that sometime.  I used Echo Park's For the Record papers and stickers.
