April Sketchy Thursday with Scraptastic

Today is Sketchy Thursday on the Scraptastic Blog and you know what that means - a chance at the $20 gift certificate if you play along! So hop over to the blog and check out the gorgeous pages by our Design Team for some inspiration, and then give this sketch a go! It looks good upside or flipped too.

For my layout I used the Let Me Go kit, Add on Kit, the little car from the Let Me Go stamp set, and the hearts from the Worth Wondering stamp set. I just love the goodies in these kits, the little globe is my favorite and the gold dots are super cute.

birthday tags with Carta Bella It's a Celebration

I made a couple of birthday tags using the cute "It's a Celebration" collection by Carta Bella.

The most fun part is the pocket. First I punched a bunch of confetti from scraps of papers after my last layout I made using this collection. I also punched a star and then encased the confetti between two rectangles of vellum with a straight stitch around the perimeter. Lastly, I stitched the confetti piece to the tag on the sides and bottom to make a pocket.

2 layouts using the April Scraptastic kit

Today I wanted to share a couple of layouts that I created with my April Scraptastic kits for the Scraptastic Blog.

I really have enjoyed playing with this Let Me Go kit, Add on kit, and Stamp Set. I wanted to share a couple of my layouts and show you some ways I like to use the stamps and some of the scraps from the kits as well.
For my first layout I began with a neutral cardstock for my background and I chose to stamp with light inks in the upper left corner and middle right, directly on the background. My aqua ink is a light shadow type ink, but the pink and gold are bolder so I stamped them first on a scrap of paper and then stamped onto my page so they would look lighter.

I decided that it would be fun to die cut the state and title from patterned paper and if you haven't used an ombre paper for a cut title, you just have to give it a go. I love the effect. Its my favorite thing to do with ombre paper.

For my second layout I did some stamping that might work better for you if you aren't comfortable stamping directly onto your layout.
I created coordinating tags with a camera theme to go with my photos of vintage cameras that I took while antiquing. I stamped a pale aqua map image multiple times onto the light patterned paper with dots and then cut 4 tag shapes and layered with embellishments. These tags really are so much fun to make and you could use kit scraps and just keep tags on hand for future layouts.

I also used the scalloped outline stamp from the Worth Wondering Stamp set. I stamped it twice onto a scrap of patterned paper directly with black ink and just cut it out and used it as an accent next to the photos.

8th stash layout

How are you guys doing with using your stash this year? I just counted and this is my 8th layout using just my stash from before this year. Now I am certainly not where I should be to have 50 done this year but 8's not too bad.

This page is for my brother's album and it was kind of a challenge in itself because I wasn't sure to go all Animal Kingdom-ish or all Christmassy. Speaking of which, someone needs to design a good safari collection again please :)  I chose to use some old Crate Paper mostly the Portrait collection. Its got Christmassy colors. Then I was digging in my holiday goodies and found these K&Co stars, DCWV rhinestones, and the walmart glittery snowflake - fun stuff!

Fluff *Scraptastic "Let Me Go" kit

The April Scraptastic "Let Me Go" kit has a travel theme and I did mostly travel pages with it  - you will see those soon :) , but I was looking at some of my favorite papers in the kit and they didn't seem travel-ish at all. And there were grey and charcoal colors so I had to do a Figaro page. Fig's birthday was April 1st and he turned 5 so it was a good time for photos.

I used the Let Me Go Kit, Add on kit, and the Worth Wondering Stamp set from Scraptastic.

Miles and miles and miles... *Scraptastic April kit

This past weekend my husband and some friends went to Texas Antiques Week in Round Top and Warrenton Texas. Its always great fun to spend the day treasure hunting but there really is no way to describe to someone how huge this event really is. It does go on and on for miles thru little towns.

I used the the April "Let Me Go" kit and Add on kit.

Just look at the cute little cork car :)

Non Traditional Birthday Card

I just wanted to share this card that I made to wish Jessica, the owner of Scraptastic Club, a very Happy Birthday. I decided to use a sunshiny greeting rather than just stamping Happy Birthday on the front of the card.  I used the April "Let Me Go" kit, Add on kit, and the "Worth Wondering" Stamp Set. I added some Basic Grey Candy Buttons and a bit of sparkle splatter from my stash.

There are so many elements in this kit that I love.  The black+white is awesome and I love the repeating elements.  The star of this kit has to be the alphabet stamp set, designed by Kaitlin Sheaffer.
