Hearts and Flowers **Echo Park Be Mine

A little more from the beautiful "Be Mine Collection" by Echo Park. I pulled it all out yesterday to make this page and decided that there should be a tag too. LOL! I love the way it worked with kraft cardstock. And guess what? I splattered white paint and didn't get it on me! LOL! So first I did this page with a photo of these pink flowers in my front yard. They don't bloom for long but they are sooo pretty. My yard has alot of pink in the flower beds, bushes and trees. This page is for Sketch #52 from SketchSavvy. And scroll down to see the cute tag I made to put on a Valentines gift.

Sunset

Sunset Blvd at MGM Studios (now called Disneys Hollywood Studios)has some beautiful buildings and some really great shopping and snacks. One of my faves is this orange Sunset building and the shops inside are one of our favorite stops. This corner is Sweet Spells and Villian in Vogue so we stop and get a Caramel apple for me and the guys get chocolates. We try to get a Halloween decoration for the house too since we decorate with Disney Villians and Nightmare before Christmas themes.

When I first saw the "Steampunk Debutante Collection" from Graphic 45, I knew it was just what I needed for these photos. I did use a little tag from the "Le Romantique Collection" as well. The ribbon is normally a sort of beige but I sprayed it with Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist and squished it up and put it in a paper towel in the microwave to dry it. LOL! This page was so much fun and the whole time I wanted a caramel apple. :)

Color Combos Galore Challenge #176 is Live so stop by and play along! I hope you guys love this Combo as much as I did. It's just perfect colors and the designer challenge is to use clouds so that is totally fun. I was inspired by the photo and pulled out photos of my guys posing like the Capt Morgan commercials. LOL! So much fun.

sweetness + hopscotch = Valentines

It makes sense I promise. :) Just check out this adorable Sweetness digi stamp set by Cheri Wenger Designs (see it HERE) and add the Basic Grey Hopscotch collection and you get the cutest valentines. I printed the digi stamp of the gumball machine 4 times on different patterned papers and cut out pieces to make one very cute design. Next I have to try that adorable cuckoo clock!

Next you just have to add the Digital Doilies which I cut out with my Cricut. When you buy these sets they come in these formats: 300 dpi editable eps, 300 dpi jpg, 300 dpi transparent PNG files, abr Photoshop brush set and svg cutting files for use with plotters/personal diecutting machines and software that supports svg files. I am totally hooked on doilies so being able to cut them on my Cricut using my SCAL software is awesome. I cut the doily from watercolor paper for this and I really like it.








































Oh and for the inside I printed the sentiment from the digi set on watercolor paper and stitched it along the lower edge. I don't like the inside of my cards to be blank because I never know what to write.

Comfort? Color Combos Galore #175

Color Combos Galore Challenge #175 is live and it is a GREAT Combo! I just loved working with these colors. And the great inspiration photo with the tea and challenge word: Comfort are SO perfect. I found these photos from The land at EPCOT and then I got totally carried away with the page and forgot to use the word comfort in the title or journaling. LOL! Its one of my very favorite places and there was a way to tie it all in, but I forgot.

I used papers from Basic Grey papers "the Basics" and "Green at Heart" along with some "Que Sera Sera" from K&Co and of course the EK Cinderella stickers. The title is stamped with paint using some Inque Boutique stamps and then I just handstitched the vine for fun. My friend Kristin is very good at creating interesting page edges and I rarely think to try it but this page was a great place to do a cool edge. If you haven't done an edge that is not straight, try it! If it makes you uncomfortable, try the top edge so that its able to stick out of the sleeve.

Why is it so cold?!

On a nice cold day I thought I would do a layout about a nice cold day. :) These photos are 2 years old and it was when we got our first tiny flurries of snow in like 15 years. Alex really hadn't ever seen snow and he takes the kitties out to see. Well Noel loves it when Alex takes her on a tour of the yard to smell the outside, but she wasn't too thrilled when icey snow started landing on her face and ears. You can see by the photo that she would have used words that are not appropriate for nice scrapbook pages. LOL! She is all about having a blanket heated up for her in the dryer so she can be toasty.

This page is my example for Sketch #51 at SketchSavvy. The papers are all Basic Grey from the Curio and Wander collections. The big snowflake is from my Cricut Winter Woodlands cartridge and the little ones are punches from Martha Stewart. I added my fave Rock Candy Stickles to the alphas because they needed to be frosty.

Pink for boys? Color Combos Galore #174

Challenge #174 is live at Color Combos Galore! Do you have trouble with using girl colors in color challenges because all you have is photos of boys? I hadn't scrapped these two photos because they are so totally pink around my two very big boys. We were in Epcot Italy before our dinner and they were taking a break while we were shopping. But look how pretty it is around them - I had to snap a couple of photos. When I got this weeks color challenge, I totally had to pull out these photos. Part of the challenge was to use butterflies so I knew it was getting a bit "pretty", but you know, its ok because the area in the photos needed the pretty-ness! Let yourself use those papers, flowers and lace on your boy pages if it suits them.

Do you have any scrapping related resolutions?I am going to try to get more pages done, the last few months I haven't scrapped much. I also want to post more sketches at Sketch Savvy!
