New Doodling Around Stack DCWV

If you haven't seen the Doodling Around Stack by DCWV, check it out! It's really cute and fun stuff. Lots of seasonal doodled designs and coordinating papers to make great layouts. I love the bits of glitter here and there because they are not overwhelming, but just a perfect accent. If you look at the blue star patterned paper here, its blue background is like a clear embossed layer with scattered blue glitter and its really nice.

Anyway, I found these old photos of Alex doing silly Field Day relays and wanted to do a special page. I hadn't tried this chipboard letter technique before and had always wanted to. My friend, Kristin, did a page using this technique the other day at a crop and I had to try it out. You attach the chipboard letters (and other shapes if you like) to form a frame, border, block, whatever you like. Then you paint over the entire piece with acrylic paint. I suggest using the same thickness of chipboard for the pieces if you want a uniform look and painting 2 coats of paint. I loved the look but wanted to add a bit more so I painted the surface of the letters in my son's name yellow and then doodled around them. So fun, because you can go outside the lines, mess up, who cares?! It still looks cute!
